STEPHANIE PARISH
Stephanie was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA, although it might be more accurate to say she was raised in "the church." Her early years were centered on God and the various ministries of Laurelglen Bible Church, where her parents were founding members and served as community leaders. Community and service-oriented leadership are in her blood and have presented as recurring themes throughout her life, whether stepping into the role of coach and then team manager for both her sons' soccer teams, managing the staff at Bagels & Blenderz for 5 years or leading her own team as a realtor for more than 22 years. Her leadership style is an infectious combination of hard work and team spirit, which she brought to bear as one of Bakersfield Angels' first Love Box leaders. Having previously served as a foster parent, she understands the unique needs of foster families firsthand, and jumped at the chance to support them through this empowering organization. Stephanie’s experience volunteering through Bakersfield Angels soon developed into a passion that led to her becoming a dedicated team member. She describes her new position with us as her “dream job.” A certified "dog person" and nature-loving athlete, Stephanie spends most of her free time outdoors, running, adventure racing, and hiking, having recently summited Mt. Whitney and finishing her 25th full marathon. She is looking forward to many new types of adventures with Bakersfield Angels. |
