Kristen Cabalka
Kristen might technically be a transplant to Bakersfield, but with a love for tight-knit community, big families, and Friday night football games, she was made for Bako living. She was an only child for the first twelve years of her life, then her parents grew their family through adoption twice. These awesome additions sparked her heart to pursue a career in supporting families’ emotional health. In 2008, she obtained a B.S. in Social Sciences from Cal Poly, SLO. At Cal Poly, she also obtained a best friend, Joe, who turned out to become her wise, generous, fun husband. They’ve been married for ten years and live a hilarious life raising four young kids. Kristen has worked as a Community Outreach Director at a local church, then as a case worker for an adoption agency, then as a full-time mama prior to joining the Bakersfield Angels team.
The past couple years, Kristen tracked with the faith steps of dear friends who were launching Bakersfield Angels. Applying to become a Case Manager was a no-brainer: Kristen’s favorite thing in the world is to listen well to people’s life stories and draw out their strengths! She believes that there is great hope for life’s traumas to be healed through nurturing, trust based relationships and is honored to facilitate those relationships through Bakersfield Angels! |
