Denise ReynenDenise grew up in Southern California, where she met and married her husband Greg. She earned her B.S. in Communication from Cal Poly Pomona, and did free-lance work for The Dairyman Magazine before she and her husband started a business for which she still does the bookkeeping. She has two sons, both in their twenties, who keep her laughing on the daily.
For most of her adult life she has been involved in women’s ministry and volunteering at her kids’ schools. With some friends, she partnered with Flood, a local homeless ministry, to provide furniture and décor to some of their clients who were transferring out of homelessness - still one of her favorite projects. Some of the people they did apartments for were either formerly in foster care, or had children who were currently in foster care, and she saw the need for support for both the children - especially those aging out of care - and their families. As Program Director for Bakersfield Angels, she gets to combine her print communication experience and her experience orchestrating service projects, to serve the children, youth and families in Kern County's foster care community. Working with the amazing women on the Bakersfield Angels staff & board towards providing radical support and hope for this population has been one of the most exciting adventures of her life. She looks forward to watching God's hand continue to work in this space. "May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may OVERFLOW WITH HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit." Rom. 15:13 |
