Marci Wattenbarger
Marci, a Bakersfield native, earned her B.A. degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her Master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in HealthCare Management from Cal State Bakersfield. Prior to Marci becoming a stay-at-home mom for her four children, she worked as the Director of Private Home Care for Bakersfield Home Health and Interim Healthcare. It is while working at these agencies that her love of grant writing began. Over the years, Marci has written grants and helped with fundraising for HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for People living With Aids), the Dream Playground for Bakersfield’s Claude Richardson Center, Hoffmann Hospice’s Voices of Inspiration Tim Tebow event, Wounded Heroes Fund and so much more.
Marci has also been active in the Bakersfield community through Leadership Bakersfield, she is a Bakersfield Christian High School board member, and the Wattenbargers are a founding family of Legacy Christian Academy. The mission of Bakersfield Angels is near and dear to Marci’s heart. In 2013, their family was blessed to adopt their fourth child through the foster care system. She is acutely aware of the joys and trials that come with fostering and adoption. She hopes to use her experiences and encourage other foster families in their journey through this awesome calling to foster and adopt. Marci is married to the love of her life, Greg. Their life with four children is full of adventures, mostly outdoor. Marci is excited to walk alongside of Bakersfield Angels and make a difference in the lives of Kern County’s foster care youth – one child at a time. |
