CARMEN GARCIA
Moving from Los Angeles to Bakersfield in 2021, Carmen and her family embarked on a transformative journey to build a new network of community and support. Together with her husband and two children, she draws strength from prayer and their spiritual circle, doing outreach assistance for the most vulnerable members of society. Carmen graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Bakersfield, in 2024, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy, along with two Associate degrees in Psychology and Behavioral Health. Her academic journey fueled her passion for serving marginalized communities, inspiring her to become a Dare to Dream Mentor shortly after relocating to Bakersfield. This role deeply resonated with her, and she remains profoundly grateful to Bakersfield Angels for the opportunity. Over the past two years, Carmen has gained invaluable insights from the foster youth she mentors, enriching her understanding of the foster care experience and strengthening her commitment to supporting children and families within the system. As a Case Manager, she is driven to change the statistics, believing that every individual deserves love and support to reach their full potential. Carmen firmly believes that serving others is a lifestyle anyone can adopt, with small acts of kindness creating ripples that impact present circumstances and future generations! |
